I’m finally remaking Greying from scratch. I know, long time coming. I have two questions for you guys! Please take a moment to answer them if you’ve ever used or even looked at a blog using Greying, as the results of this poll affect how I make this theme for you guys! Please and thank you :)
Should I update the old coding or post a completely new theme instead? The new Greying definitely has a different look and I will be taking out options (fixed sidebar for sure) and adding new ones (different next/previous page options, mobile/responsive layout, etc).
See above photo. I’m trying to redo the bottom controls for each post and want to implement the native like and reblog buttons. The globe button is for the post source and may be replaced with a different icon. Do you like this layout? Would you change it in any way, besides the globe icon?

Greying fix -

I found the problem with Greying! Turns out that jQuery 1.9 (the latest version of jQuery) is incompatible with a good deal of my scripts. I’ve submitted a fix that uses an older version (1.8), but I will work to bring Greying and other themes up to the latest version of jQuery ASAP!

jQuery is what makes scripts like high-res videos/photosets and infinite scrolling work, if you weren’t sure what this is.

I’ve submitted a fix to the theme, but if you would like to fix it yourself, look in the HTML for this line of script, near the top -

<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

And replace it with this -

<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.0/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>

Hope this helps!

It's happening, guys

I’m completely rewriting Greying from scratch, so everything will be shiny, new, and updated. If you’d like to watch me do my magic, click on the link and refresh when you wish, I’ll be working on this for the rest of the night.

Have a good evening, ladies and gents!

Greying/infinite scroll issue -

I’ve been getting quite a few messages that Greying’s infinite scroll is no longer working and that has probably something to do with the Javascript/jQuery files. Rest assured, I will look into the problem and make sure it’s solved soon! In the meantime, you can:

  1. Leave it as is. This is why I don’t get rid of Previous and Next buttons when you enable Infinite Scrolling - just in case it stops working!
  2. Turn off infinite scroll and hang tight for the update. Probably going to fix this within the next couple of weeks.
  3. Attempt to fix it yourself. This is not recommended unless you have a good working knowledge of HTML and Javascript/jQuery. I cannot provide support if you edit the code yourself and run into issues.

Thanks for reading! Pass this on to other Greying users if you get the chance!

For anybody who is using Greying:

If you have problems with not being able to click your follow, reblog, and dashboard controls, here’s a quick fix.

Go into your custom HTML and look for this:

	{block:ifFixedBanner}#tumblr_controls {
		position: fixed!important;
		top: 0!important;
		right: 0!important;
	}{/block:ifFixedBanner}

And change it to this:

	{block:ifFixedBanner}#tumblr_controls {
		position: fixed!important;
		top: 0!important;
		right: 0!important;
		z-index: 9999999!important;
	}{/block:ifFixedBanner}

I’ve also submitted the fix to the official Theme Garden theme, so if you can wait, and you haven’t switched to Custom HTML, it should update automagically.

Have a nice day!

Greying v. 1.111115
Better infinite scrolling. Loading icon now displays when loading pages, and audio posts now work after the first page!
Improved coding. Cleaned up extra whitespaces and unnecessary HTML.
Post spacing. You can now edit the space between your posts in the Appearance options.
I didn&#8217;t end up adding any more color options for this version, but may include it in the next version.
Click on the image to install the theme. If you have enabled Custom HTML, you will need to reinstall. Please allow for several days for the changes to take place as the Tumblr staff will need to approve the updates before the theme changes.
